This page is dedicated to the pilots who put their lives on the line to train us as Army pilots.

Flight instructors would serve the Army from the beginning of aviation to now and forever. They would serve in flight schools and in all units that have aircraft in their TO&E (inventory).

For the flight schools they would be military or civilian and taught at Camp Gary, Camp (Fort) Wolters, Fort Sill, Camp (Fort) Rucker and Hunter Army Airfield at Fort Stewart. Today most Aviation training is accomplished at Fort Rucker, Alabama.

Flight Instructors would teach the ground schools as well as the flying. They would teach us the basics of how to preflight our aircraft. how to taxi, or hover, and how to take off and land and all of the different phases of flight to include instruments.
